Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery

Today I ate lunch at with two friends, Cliff and Kathy at

This was my second visit to the Kilt, having eaten there one time previously with Cliff. On the first visit several weeks ago Cliff and I both had wings with Kilburn Sauce and fell in love with them.

Today's visit I ordered the Scottish Cheese Steak with Fries
Cliff ordered the Maggie Mae's Fish and Chips
Kathy ordered the Danny Boy Shepherds Pie

I asked for a side of their signiture Kilburn sauce to use as a dip for my fries
Cliff asked to try the Kilburn Mayo
(Both our requests were accommodated.)

In the interests of a fair and balanced review the three of us each sampled one another s dishes.

Scottish Cheese Steak with Fries
Fries were fresh and crispy, the Cheese Steak was mediocre. The side of Kilburn sauce was a nice addition.

Overall verdict Average.

Maggie Mae's Fish and Chips

When the dish first came out, we were alarmed at the seemingly small size of the portion. Upon complaining to the waitress, Cliff was given another three pieces of the fish for an additional $3.00. The flavor and freshness of the fish more than compansated for the initial shock we had over portion size. The batter was crispy and fresh and the fish was light and flaky the way good fish should be.
Overall Verdict Excellent, Tasty but Small Portion

Danny Boy Shepherds Pie

A tasty and satisfying rendition of traditional Shepherds pie, somewhat peppery which suited me although unusually Cliff found it slightly over peppered. The dish was made simple and fresh as it should of been without over complicating the flavors. A solid choice for the meat and potato fanatic.

Overall verdict Good depending on palette.

The Waitress was kind enough to give us some  Kilburn sauce to go after we asked if it was available for sale.

unfortunately the sauce is not sold as a to go item.
